It usually use the turret type tool magazine and linear guide rail to reduce the tool change time and the rapid traverse speed is faster than the machining center, and the machining efficiency of the machine tool is higher. It’s mainly applied in precision manufacturing industries such as electronic engineering, medical appliances, automotive industry, etc.
1. Main features of drilling center:

displacement speed, high spindle speed, fast drilling and tapping, fast tool
change;
2. The general itinerary does not
exceed 700 * 400 * 300;
3. The large-pitch screw and roller-type
linear guide rails can move up to 48m / min or 60m / min;
4. The common highest speed in
the spindle market can reach 12000rpm / 15000rpm / 20000rpm / 24000rpm;
5. Tapping speed can reach
4000-6000rpm;
Tool change time is an important
parameter in the drilling center. The speed of tool change is directly related
to the machining efficiency. Clamp arm type tool magazine adjacent tool change
time: 1.2sec, the farthest tool change time: 6-7sec (no jump type tool change),
servo type tool magazine adjacent tool change time: 1.4sec, the farthest tool
change time: 1.6 sec (jump-type tool change). Therefore, most of the drilling
centers on the market now use servo-type tool magazines.
